The Imaging Centre is on the move!

We are happy to announce the exciting news that we will soon be moving our corporate headquarters and warehouse to a new facility located in Marden. The move will support the ongoing company growth, and provide additional opportunities to serve our customer base of over 400 publishers.

Adam Short, Managing Director of The Imaging Centre said, “Although this new warehouse is only 10 minutes from our current location, the larger facility will provide many advantages for our customers. We are significantly increasing our warehousing space which will enable us to accommodate a brand-new press adding to the two we already house. Higher order volumes have seen the need for a larger, faster and even more efficient machine. The HP Indigo 12,000 is the 4th series of Indigo press, producing the same professional quality printing, but in higher numbers. This will reduce turnaround times, and get orders direct to retail even faster than before. The new press produces larger B2 prints, which will allow us to offer a host of new products including sheet gift wrapping on demand.

“In addition to our improved warehouse facilities, our expanded office space will enable us to launch our state-of-the-art Innovations Centre. The Centre is designed to support new publishers, with regular consultation sessions where our expert knowledge is on hand to help make their step into the Greeting card industry easier than ever. For our current IC Simplicity customers, there is the opportunity to use the facilities to create, sample, proof, upload to their portals and order on demand immediately – significantly reducing start to finish times.

And as part of the key environmental values the company holds, the warehouse is part powered by renewable energy sources – and is quite literally green!”

All operations will be moved and functioning in the new location by January 4, 2021. As part of the move and the implications caused from the lockdown, The Imaging Centre will be closing earlier than normal over the festive period. Our last operating day will be December 18 and we will re-open in our new facility on January 4.

Lockdown 2 – An Update from The Imaging Centre

.

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Saturday 31st October, entering us into a second National Lockdown, we would like to inform all of our customers that we will be doing everything we can to remain operational throughout this time, whilst keeping the safety of our staff and customers at the forefront of our decision making.

We will remain open for business during normal hours, however, we will be working with a reduced workforce. This is in order to increase social distancing and decrease contact to minimise the risk of having to stop production completely.

Any customers wishing to cancel orders will be able to do so as long as the order has not gone into production at the point of cancelling. Unfortunately, all orders that have already passed the preparation stage will need to continue as planned.

Orders which are already in production can have the delivery address amended, however we will not be able to keep orders past their intended delivery date. Whilst we appreciate the difficult circumstances we all find ourselves in, holding on to stock will reduce the space in our facility and could have a detrimental effect on the safety of our staff.

We thank you for your continued support and understanding during these different times.
Stay in touch, stay calm, stay safe and keep sending cards ☺

Adam Short, MD

New Press – Coming Soon!

We are excited to announce the latest addition to The Imaging Centre, our new
HP Indigo 12000 digital press!

Our new printing press is capable of printing up to 4,600 sheets per hour. Enabling us to offer even more cost effective solutions particularly on larger runs, and further improvements to our turnaround times. The HP Indigo 12,000 is the latest release from HP and will be run in addition to our existing Indigo machines. It can print in up to seven colours, including cyan, magenta, yellow, black, orange, violet and green. There are also some special effects colours including white, light cyan, light magenta and fluorescent pink. These can print on heavy substrates up to 450mic. It will allow us to print larger scale, maximum sheet size being 750 x 530 mm. This larger sheet size will allow us to offer single sheets of gift wrap on demand for the first time. One of the best things about the HP Indigo 12000 digital press is that it is manufactured carbon neutral and supports reduced production waste, helping us to achieve our environmental goals.

It will be up and running in January 2021!

Reusable face masks for staff

As well as keeping on top of all Covid-19 measures, and ensuring our workplace is regularly inspected for improvements, we also purchased some ‘Imaging Centre’ branded face masks for all of our staff and visitors. We are passionate about environmental sustainability, and are encouraging our staff to use this rather than disposable ones – as every little helps.
